Ceramic Art: Traditional and Contemporary Art

The history of Ceramics is as old as human civilization. Clay is the most ubiquitous element on earth, owing to its abundance and plasticity it is also the most ancient medium to create many products used in our daily lives. As per many mythologies, the creator has been envisioned as a potter – a pot is often used to denote a human being which points to the centrality of the art of pottery in global culture. The mission of Ceramic art is to get international recognition through promotions related to knowledge, engagement and appreciation through establishing networks among the artist community, educators, designers, collectors, patrons, students, museums, traditional artists and the general public. The exchange of ideas during conferences, seminars, workshops, training courses, symposiums and exhibitions has encouraged participation related to Ceramic traditions and contemporary art forms worldwide. We aim to develop a dialogue between the ceramic art and design fraternity and mainstream art and architecture through research and documentation for the survival of Ceramic art.
