Rajendra Kumar Shyam-GOND ART-Madhya Pradesh-India-BIRDS-Tree of life-Snakes (RAJ 45)

A flourishing tree of life is depicted here in all its glory. The birds rest below its shade. The addition of the two snakes in hanging position from the tree branch is an interesting artistic choice. Leaving most of the tree canopy monochrome adds a unique touch to an otherwise colorful work. The iconography of Gond art contains a lot of recurring motifs. Each artist lends his or her own representational styles to the art form and expands its repertoire significantly.
