Fusion of human faces with the deer couple certainly separate us within the animal kingdom, and more importantly, unites us too. The painting visually, emotionally and intellectually explores this overlap that exists across universally. Our current lifestyle does not necessitate physical interaction with wild animals. Yet we revere the natural world and are enticed by characteristics we no longer see in ourselves, such as fierceness, instinctiveness, purity.
