She harbors ill intent towards a family or certain individuals and achieves her malicious goals with the help of these age-old methods. She thus lies about possessing them and keeps it a secret from all. The snake having sensed the concern is trying to free the souls from the women who is quarrelsome or reclusive. He is probably on a witch hunt to save the other villagers.
