Description
Animals are a necessary and integral part of everyday life in a village, according to the folk tales and art of the Warli tribe. Scenes from everyday life, which include the integration of many different animals, are the main theme of Warli paintings, an ancient folk-art form from Maharashtra. In this depiction the rats are requesting the Warli woman to give them the eatables from the basket she is carrying on her head. A sense of fun surrounds the composition.
