Teju Behen's trees and natural vegetation are remarkably creative which fits into a tradition of Rajasthani miniature artists obsessed with the many shapes and styles of trees and shrubs which dot the landscape. Teju Behen's paintings are highly stylized and evoke a folk 'magical realism' which is enchanting. Whether she knows it or not, she's weaving 'village and town' and 'tradition modernity' into her paintings and drawings.
