HEERAMAN URVETI-GOND ART-Madhya Pradesh-India-TREE OF LIFE-ANIMALS-BONDING-BIRDS-DIETY (HU 23)
One is re-introduced to the motif of the tree by HEERAMAN URVETI in this gorgeously vibrant work. Branches diverge and converge, fork and bloom, each adding to the flourishing foliage. A feature that instantly grabs one’s attention is the multiple patterns that the artist has inculcated within the shapes of the tree and the animals. Each of them is marked by their own colour or pattern, almost looking like a patchwork quilt in some cases. The patterns add a seemingly textural layer to an otherwise flat canvas. The ability of the tree to nurture life is quite apparent from the artist’s depiction. It provides shelter to different life forms and harbors a world of its own. A mini-environment within the environment is depicted in the composition which is graced by the Badadeo in the center.
