| Prakriti is the Creative Feminine art catalogue was launched on Global Womens Day, the 8th of March. This publication astutely puts forth artworks alongside complementary text on the genres and artistic oeuvre of some of the most significant contemporary Indigenous artists in India. The selection of artists and their works has been conducted with a mindful focus on the feminine principle surrounding us all. Although Indian in origin, the myriad themes presented here have a universal resonance. The spectrum of styles and plethora of themes that engage with the feminine form are a part of this catalogue which is truly astounding. Many of these have been depicted in the traditional paintings of the past several decades, while newer assimilations in contemporary renditions are also widespread. This publication is divided into four sections, each looking at a certain aspect of the feminine universal principle through the lens of modern indigenous art of India. |
